| Details: JOB OVEVIEW:   IMPLEMENTS AND MAINTAINS COMPLEX HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE SYSTEMS WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION. WORK WITH PLANT, ITD, AND DIVISION PERSONNEL TO RESOLVE TECHNICAL ISSUES, AND PERFORM USER SUPPORT  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB): ·       MS SQL SERVERS, WEB SERVERS, VOICE AND DATA NETWORKS.·       INSTALL AND MAINTAIN WORKSTATION COMPUTER HARDWARE, WINDOWS SOFTWARE.·       Administrate test, cert, and production IIS and SQL environments.·        Monitor system performance metrics and provide capacity planning to meet application SLAs.    ·       Liason with in-house development and external vendors to ensure applications are successfully deployed through the change control process.·       DOCUMENT CURRENT IN HOUSE DEVELOPED SYSTEMS AND SITE HARDWARE CONFIGURATION.·       ASSIST CUSTOMERS IN HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE PROBLEM RESOLUTION.·       RESEARCH AND PROPOSE POSSIBLE THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS.·       EVALUATES, JUSTIFIES AND IMPLEMENTS TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES DESIGNED TO AUTOMATE WORK ACTIVITIES.·       Managing virus and MS patch compliancy for Information Technology Division (ITD) ·       Ensuring compliancy with asset management, software license management, data security, and Sarbanes - Oxley audit requirements·       Responsible for coordinating service requests with local users and outside resources·       Document procedures and job functions | ||||

| Details: Position Summary::The Transportation Manager will lead and guide Thermadyne’s transportation initiative to support all product line offerings. Establish the direction and guide the implementation of the delivery process within the order fulfillment and sourcing processes. Also, accountable for increasing the effectiveness of the transportation network by lowering costs, increasing efficiency, and increasing customer satisfaction and responsible for analyzing rates, modes, and volume to make recommendations for changes to the current network. Facilitate the selection and continued development of all current and potential new carriers to meet customer requirements on service while meeting corporate objectives on pricing and performance on agreed to standards for all modes of transportation, in all operating companies.  Responsibilities:Manage an annual freight spend of approximately $20 million Consolidate our volume and transportation function for our land, air, international, and all relations with transportation carrier.Negotiate exceptional volume rates with our transportation carriersNegotiate contracts with third party payment and audit companies and monitor performanceInterface between carriers and third party providers and THMD for related mattersOversee carrier negotiations, capitalizing on cost savings initiativesDevelop plans and tactics to communicate transportation strategy for the organization.Present business opportunities to management for optimization of cost savingsDevelop metrics and best practice standards to measure progress against goals for businessPrepare reports for management regarding department operations, measurements and successReport on carrier performance relating to on-time delivery, in transit damage, invoicing accuracy, and contract complianceIdentify, analyze and implement projects to reduce costs and increase customer satisfactionReport on carrier expenses monthly; perform trend analysis on actual expense versus contractual ratesInterface with the distribution centers, sourcing managers and carriers to ensure they are receiving Thermadyne discount ratesWork with Distribution and marketing to ensure transportation product packaging design requirements meet NMFC standardsOptimize the SOP’s of third party freight payment providerDesign and implement operational and customer service processes that include booking, load building or shipment consolidation, shipment routing and billing, supplier order communication, shipment event collection and management, exception management, and customer reporting.Establish effective metrics and alert processes to monitor and manage daily operations, and network and carrier performance. Use data and analysis to hold parties accountable for performance improvementKnowledge of and/or experience with Transportation Management EDI or Supply Chain Event Management Education / SkillsLead the development of carrier plans, bid processes and the management of ongoing relationships.Partner with the Purchasing groups to manage purchased item transportationContribute to Company and Supply Chain strategies as member of the distribution centers operations teamAuthority:Negotiate all transportation contracts for movement of goods globallyRelationships:All levels of company personnel/suppliers; two direct reports.Safety Requirements:Follow safe work practices which include - knowing the potential hazards of the job, learning safety practices for the job and following them; complying with all safety rules and using the safety devices and personal protective equipment required on the job; and correcting or reporting all safety, health and fire hazards promptly. | ||||
